Terms.
The terms for using worldband, buying its extras, and using this website. They are written to be read. Where they say "we", they mean the person who makes worldband.
Last updated 8 November 2026
1. Agreement
- These terms apply when you use the worldband app, buy its extras on this website, or use worldband.edbn.me. By doing any of those, you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use worldband.
- The License and the Privacy policy are part of these terms.
- To buy, you need to be old enough to enter a contract where you live, or have a parent or guardian agree for you.
2. Who we are
- worldband is made by edbn ("we", "us"), based in India. We license it to you.
- On this website, worldband's extras are sold by our reseller Polar (section 5). In the App Store, they are sold by Apple (section 8).
- You can reach us at worldband@edbn.me.
3. worldband and your license
- worldband plays radio stations from around the world on a map. The radio is free to use. The extras, the Earth wallpaper, Follow the Sun and Today's Earth on the Mac, are a one-time purchase.
- On the Mac, worldband needs Apple silicon and macOS 26 Tahoe or later. Check that your Mac meets these before you buy.
- Buying the extras gives you a personal license to use them on up to three Macs that you use. It is a license to use the app, not a sale of the app or its code.
- Your license key is for you. Don't share, sell or publish it. You can move it between your Macs from worldband's Settings or your customer portal.
- worldband's source code is available to read under the License, which also says what you may and may not do with it.
4. The stations
- worldband doesn't broadcast, host, record or store any radio. Each station streams straight from its own broadcaster, and is listed from Radio Browser, a public directory.
- Stations, their programmes, names and logos belong to their broadcasters, who are responsible for them. We don't control what they play, and some of it may not suit everyone.
- Stations can go off air, move or stop at any time, and their details can be wrong. We can't promise that any station will be available or play well.
- If you are a broadcaster and want something changed about your station in worldband, email us.
5. Buying on this website
- Polar Software, Inc. ("Polar") is our reseller and the merchant of record for purchases on this website. You buy worldband's extras from Polar, which takes the payment, charges and pays the tax, sends your receipt and invoice, and handles refunds and payment disputes.
- Polar's Buyer Terms cover the sale and the payment. These terms and the License cover your license and your use of worldband.
- For a question about a payment, receipt or invoice, you can write to us or to Polar at support@polar.sh. For anything about worldband itself, write to us.
- It is a one-time payment, with no subscription.
- Your key appears on the thank-you page, and stays in your customer portal.
- Use only payment methods you are allowed to use, and give accurate billing details.
6. Prices
- Prices are shown in U.S. dollars, before tax. The tax due where you live is added at checkout.
- The price you pay is the one Polar's checkout shows before you pay.
- Prices may change, but changes never affect what you have already bought.
7. Refunds
- If worldband doesn't run on your Mac, or isn't what you expected, email worldband@edbn.me within 14 days of buying and we'll have Polar refund you in full.
- After that, payments are not refundable, except where the law says otherwise. Refunds are made by Polar, to the way you paid.
- As the seller, Polar may also refund a purchase itself, for example one made in error or by fraud, or where the law or card network rules require it.
- If something is wrong with a charge, please write to us or Polar first, as we can usually fix it quickly. This doesn't limit your right to dispute a charge with your card issuer.
- If you are a consumer in the EU, the UK or another place with a legal right to withdraw from an online purchase, you have it as the law sets out. Because the extras are digital content you can use straight away, that right may end once you start using them, where the law allows.
- A refunded or charged-back purchase ends the license it paid for, and its key stops working.
8. iPhone and iPad
- If you get worldband from the App Store, Apple sells it and its in-app purchase, and Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement governs your use of it, together with sections 4 and 9 to 20 of these terms where they don't conflict with it.
- Apple handles its payment, updates and refunds. To ask for a refund, use reportaproblem.apple.com.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for worldband and its support.
9. Fair use
- Don't share, sell, rent or publish worldband or keys for it, or get around its license check.
- Don't record, rebroadcast or resell stations through worldband, or use it in a way that breaks a broadcaster's rights or the law where you are.
- Don't misuse this website: no attacks, scraping or automated checkouts, and no attempts to get at other people's purchases or keys.
10. Updates and support
- We release updates to worldband from time to time, and the Mac app can install them. We may change, add or remove features, but we won't take away extras you bought without a refund.
- Support is by email, from the person who makes worldband. We answer as soon as we can, but can't promise a time.
- This website and the license check may sometimes be unavailable. The Mac app keeps working while it can't reach the license check.
11. What's ours and what's yours
- worldband, its code, design, name and icon belong to us and are protected by copyright and other laws. Your license lets you use them as described here; nothing else passes to you.
- You're welcome to share pictures and videos of worldband on your own screen.
- If you send feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve worldband, without owing you anything for it. What you send stays private, as the Privacy policy says.
12. Other services
- worldband and this website rely on others, such as the stations themselves, Radio Browser, Apple Maps, NASA, Polar, Apple, Cloudflare and GitHub. Their terms apply to your use of them, and we aren't responsible for them.
13. No warranty
- worldband and this website are provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we give no warranties, express or implied, including that they are fit for a particular purpose, uninterrupted or free of errors.
- The wallpaper changes your desktop picture while it's on, and puts yours back when you turn it off. Keep your own copies of pictures that matter to you.
14. Limits on liability
- As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost data, profits or time, arising from worldband or this website.
- As far as the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us for worldband in the twelve months before the claim.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
15. Ending
- You can stop using worldband at any time. Quit it and drag it to the Trash.
- If you seriously break these terms or the License, for example by sharing your key, we may end your license and deactivate the key, after warning you where we reasonably can.
- Sections 9 to 20 keep applying after a license ends.
16. Consumers
- If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer laws of the country where you live, which apply whatever these terms say, and you may bring proceedings in that country's courts.
17. Law and disputes
- These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to their conflict of law rules. Subject to section 16, the courts of India have jurisdiction.
- If something goes wrong, please email us first. Most problems are solved quickly that way, and we'll try in good faith for at least 30 days before either of us goes further.
18. Changes
- We may update these terms, for example when worldband or the law changes. The new version will be here with a new date at the top, and applies from then on. Changes never apply to a purchase made before them in a way that takes away what you paid for.
19. General
- These terms, the License and the Privacy policy are the whole agreement between us about worldband and this website. For a purchase on this website, Polar's Buyer Terms also apply between you and Polar. They govern the sale and the payment, and these terms govern your license.
- If any part of them can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a part straight away, we can still do so later.
- You can't transfer your license or these terms to someone else. We may transfer them if worldband passes to a new owner, who would be bound by them.
- We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by things beyond our reasonable control.
- Notices to you go to the email you bought with; notices to us go to worldband@edbn.me.
20. Contact
- Questions about these terms: worldband@edbn.me.
